What is the best way to become an English speech champion?
The best way to answer this question is through good training.
In order to reach this goal,
you must work at it. Here are some good tips that will help you along the way.
First of all, be sure that you have a Good Speech. What I mean is that you need to have a clear and understandable story and message. Your Content also must be logical and easy to follow. Second, you must practice very hard on your Voice Projection. Speaking as loudly as possible will show the audience and judges that you not only have self-confidence, but also a fairly good command of the language. It’s hard to convince someone about what you are talking about if they cannot hear you. So speak as loud as possible, and then even louder. Next, work on your Delivery. By delivery. I mean the way you give your speech. It’s good practice to use as much Facial Animation as you can. Facial animation means to animate your face by smiling, frowning, looking serious, rolling your eyes and doing a lot of other techniques. You should also make sure you use strong Eye Contact. Scan the entire audience by looking at everyone eye-to-eye. This also will give the impression of strong self-confidence. Feel free to also use Gestures when they are needed. Gestures, if used right can help highlight a speech and will blend in smoothly with the story. But be careful not to use too many gestures. If you do, it will start to look unnatural and hurt you in the long run! Last, be Dynamic and Dramatic! It’s ok to put some passion and emotion into your speech. Imagine, as you are on stage that you are a movie actor or actress. If you are dramatic this will also help get your message across.
I hope you will practice by using the above points. T&T will help you begin your first step to the championships!
